Sweet FM started in 1990, the inspiration for Sweet FM came when Feedback B (FB) heard a local illegal pirate radio station called 2nd City Radio that spent its time taunting the DTI… After tracking down and meeting the man behind ‘second city Radio’, FB started to do a few shows playing music that wasn’t normally played on commercial or legal radio stations. After a breakaway from 2nd City Radio, Sweet FM started soon after…. FB soon set Sweet FM up and a call went out to all local DJs to send in demo tapes to become a presenter with their own show. Sweet FM played R&B, Reggae, Hip Hop, Lovers Rock, and later on in its life, House, Techno and Rave music. Sweet FM ran for 2 years from Friday 6pm to Sunday midnight every weekend. The station was raided by the RIS but came back on air after various moves and setbacks; Indeed Feedback B did run the station. Which did its last broadcast in 1992. FB went on to present shows on Trance FM and the Kool FM in Birmingham.
