  1. Hi ,My name s Vince Seager. I have heard that Acafess is an historic club particularly in the Birmingham world of jazz.

A wonderful fellow by the name of Andy Hamilton played there and entertained many many times. He loved the club so much he wrote a tune called Acafess.

I have uploaded a clip to Youtube from when Andy and his band “The Blue Notes” along with eminent guests played it at his Long standing club “the Silver Shine Club;” so called after his number one jazz album of the same name.
I would like to take this opportunity to remember Andy and his band for all the help and support they gave to me and the musicians of Birmingham that were influenced by him.

I hope you like this entry! best regards Vince.here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBeClldlU5Q

  2. Yes, the jazz, the djs, and the food (fish, onions, and dumplings) at Acafess were fantastic. I must have seen Andy Hamilton and his band play there a dozen times and the equally great Steve Ajao on half a dozen nights. It was tragic when the club had to close down.
