Hello Barry, I worked with Beacon Radio from 1987 / 1997 as Marion the Soap for 18 months with Myatt and Perry then out of the blue Pete Wagstaff phoned me up at my place of work and asked if I would like to do travel on Beacon Shropshire who could refuse an offer like that, and I became Marion Mobile, it came to a sad end when GWR took over. You are still fondly remembered on Beacon’s FB page, in fact, today snippet of your programme 3rd June 30 plus years ago has been posted today, It’s a great page and there are still some of the original presenters from the 70s that leave their comments and memories. My memory of you Barry, although I never met you were that I walked into the studio that you had used for your show and it was the smell of your aftershave/perfume it was beautiful.
