I never saw this incarnation but we did go regularly to see Curtis with the Flying Doctors. They were brilliant. The combi of him with Pete Oliver, Craig Fenney and Ian on the drums was superb. Probably the most professional band ever to come out of Bham. Ian payed with a snare, bass drum, hi hat and one cymbal and it was sumblime. Great days, RIP Pete and Curtis
We used to watch Slender Loris at Bunters at the Bournebeook. Phil was one of our teachers, so was Chris Berry. We attended Blessed Humphrey Middlemore school and were 14 when we first went to the Bournebrook
Saw them a few times in Brom, think I have a single somewhere. I also went to BHM from 1971 to 1975. Seem to recall Headgirl Maggie Plunkett dated Phil from the band. Have no contact with her or Rita Meehan since those days.
We used to go to see Slender Loris at the old Mint Bar at the Albany Hotel in Nottingham in the mid 1970s. Are they still around?
I used to go see them, Birmingham Rep, The Barrel Organ and Bingley Hall (not the one in Stafford) I have a single of theirs too.
